About O.K. Kids

The Outdoor Kansas for Kids (OK Kids) Program offers kids and families an alternative to sedentary lifestyles. The Program is a free and fun way to enrich their lives with nature, wildlife, recreation, and outdoor enjoyment-simple pleasures that so many kids miss in today's technology-driven world. OK Kids activities give kids a chance to explore the wide variety of outdoor opportunities present at state and city parks and other outdoor venues and to learn something while having fun. continued

Eco Meets

An Eco Meet is a high school competition (grades 8 through 12) between teams of 3 to 4 contestants who are quizzed on their knowledge of Kansas wildlife and plants. Students are tested on their knowledge of wetlands/aquatic ecosystems, invertebrates, and plant identification. Scholarship money, donated by generous sponsors, is awarded to the three top teams and the top two individuals. continued
