KANSAS WILDSCAPE RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION

The National Association of State Park Directors (NASPD)honored Kansas Wildscape Foundation with their highest national award, the President's Award, at their annual convention held in Wichita Sept. 4-8, 2006. Kansas Wildscape received this honor for their 15 years of creating outdoor opportunities, including the restoration of 2,800 acres of wetlands at Milford Reservoir, their involvement in the creation of the Kansas Wetlands Educational Center at Cheyenne Bottoms, and their facilitating funding for cabins being built throughout the state park system. The NASPD Annual Convention was hosted by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks.
