2008 Governor's Golf & Fishing Classic
Kansas Wildscape hosted its 12th Annual Governor's Golf & Fishing Classic on June 13th and 14th this year. Friday was a perfect, not-too-hot day at Rolling Meadows Golf Course, and everyone had a great time golfing and partaking of the picnic-style meal afterward.
The next morning, eager anglers were on hand at Milford Lake for a sunrise boat launch, kicking off the competition for the Governor's Cup and cash prizes.
This summer marked the fourth year Wildscape has held these events in the Junction City and Milford Lake areas and the community support and enthusiasm add an extra level to the success of the Classic.
Due to the generous sponsorship donations of several individuals and companies, close to 20 soldiers from nearby Fort Riley were able to take part in the fishing tournament and enjoy a relaxing day on the lake.
