2008 O.K. Kids Picture Contest
Kids! Get out your colored pencils, crayons, markers, or pastels! Once again, Kansas Wildscape, along with Capitol Federal Savings, is hosting an art contest.
Depict your favorite outdoor scene or activity, using whatever 2-D medium you prefer (pencils, paint, crayons, etc.). You may use any type of paper that works with your chosen medium, in any size you prefer.
Send your drawing to the Kansas Wildscape office in Lawrence, along with a registration form, and that's all you have to do! Registration forms will be offered at O.K. Kids events, or are downloadable from this site (see below).
This year, there will 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place prizes in each of three age groups, as follows:
Up-to-6
7-10
11-15
First-place winners receive $100 plus a surprise (age-appropriate selection).
Second-place winners receive $50 plus a surprise...
Third-place winners receive $25 plus a surprise...
~Patience is a Virtue~
Because the entry forms will be at O.K. Kids event sites, and because we want everyone to have a chance to win, the deadline (for postmarks) is October 10th, after all the events are over, and judging will take place later in the month.
We know this is a long time to wait if you send your entry early in the season, but we're sure you will understand that we don't want to exclude any young artists. Thank you for your patience and have a wonderful summer outdoors in Kansas!
~Mom Wants My Picture Back~
If you wish to get your picture back (or if Mom's fridge looks empty without it), please mention on the entry form that you want your picture returned and enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope along with your entry.
Prior to returning your picture, Wildscape retains the right to use the image for promotional purposes--it may appear on our website, in press releases, or in other local-interest publications. Pictures not requested returned will remain the property of Kansas Wildscape.
